Kitchens, bathrooms, and whole house remodeling projects are complex. We can be the expert in your back pocket.
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
Have a Pinterest inspiration image and want to understand what it costs to do something like that? Never heard of sintered stone? Don’t understand the difference between a built-in and a counter-depth refrigerator? Need undercabinet lighting but not sure how to make it all work?
We can help.
Our consultations are a great way to lean on us for our expertise without committing to a full-service design project. We offer advice and guidance for your Portland remodeling projects.

All inquiries start with a free 20-minute Discovery Call.
A conversation on the phone or video chat to discover – Are we a good fit? What is the scope of your project? Can we complete this within your schedule? We will then walk you through our process, fees, and any other questions you may have along the way. At the end of the Discovery Call, we should have a good idea of which of our consulting below is the best fit for you and your project.
Remodeling Project Defining Consultation | $595
Ideal for homeowners considering a major full-service design and remodel project.
This 1.5 hour in-person consult is for those who want to move forward with more extensive remodeling design services, but have questions that we need to talk through first regarding your goals, vision, investment budget, layout questions, and feedback to start the process. We will discuss your project objectives, consider your investment levels, and diagnose the existing conditions. Afterward, we will synthesize all of the information, develop a detailed Scope of Work that we feel will give you the best results, and offer a fee proposal for our involvement in that process. The Scope of Work document defines the project and clearly communicates the main design directives, the intervention required, and captures your ideas from your mind and translates them to written form for all stakeholders to understand. You can use this written Scope of Work to fast-track the remodeling process with contractors or other tradespersons should you choose not to go forward with our full services.
Service area: For anyone outside of a 15-mile radius of our showroom, we charge an additional $50-100 for the designer’s travel time and mileage, or we are happy to do this via Zoom. We take on limited clients outside of the 15-mile radius, so please let us know in the Discovery Call so that we can verify availability and travel charges based on your location.
Project Boost | $995
Ideal for DIY homeowners in the midst of a kitchen, bathroom, or home remodeling project and who need an expert opinion or advice.
Did you start a remodeling project on your own or with a contractor and feel overwhelmed by some aspect of the project that has come up? Did your contractor tell you that you have one week to make a decision about something and don’t know how to begin deciding? Are you getting advice from too many loved ones and need an independent 3rd party to weigh in on the best idea and why? This is a 2-hour in-person meeting at our showroom (or via Zoom, if you prefer) where you can lean on our expertise and get yourself unstuck. Bring your plans, images, and any materials you’d like us to assess. We will assume the role of your advocate and answer any questions you have regarding the construction process, key items to consider or discuss with your contractor, resource recommendations, and explore the issues that are unique to your project. You will also receive our Brand Resources List to give you ideas of reputable manufacturers for kitchen and bath products and our Project Materials/Products Selection Checklist and Budgeting Spreadsheet to help you stay organized and on top of the decisions that impact the project investment. We will help you develop a confident plan of action for you to carry out on your own.
Project Boost On-Site Upgrade: We do take on-site Project Boost consultations on a case-by-case basis for an additional charge to offset the designer’s travel time and mileage. For anyone inside our service area (within a 15-mile radius of our showroom), we charge an additional $50 for the on-site upgrade. For on-site Project Boosts located more than 15 miles from the showroom, we typically charge $100, but this varies by location and distance. We take on limited on-site Project Boost clients, so please let us know in the Discovery Call if you’d like us to come to your site.
Remodeling Project Insurance Plan | $2,495
Ideal for DIY homeowners who want to lead the remodeling project but also want a professional opinion at each major stage in the process to help things run more smoothly.
This is designed for those who are confident they can tackle a kitchen, bathroom, or remodel project but also want to try to avoid common mistakes that cost time, money, or both. This includes 3 separate consultations, meant to provide design insight at conception, planning/design, and construction. It starts with a 90-minute Remodeling Project Defining Consultation meeting on-site so that we can develop a good plan together to help you get started on the right foot. Then, once the project is underway, this includes everything listed above in the 2-hour Project Boost session including our Brand Resources List and our Project Materials/Products Selection Checklist and Budgeting Spreadsheet so that you can begin gathering all of the products you’ll need to complete your vision. Then we provide a 2 hr on-site Construction Milestone Consultation at any time during the construction process. Perhaps you want us to talk with your contractor at the beginning, or discuss trouble-shooting with you & your trades if a problem arises after demolition. This provides our guidance at 3 important phases of your project. You get to decide when to schedule these at the most advantageous times of your specific project timeline and all 3 sessions must be used within 12 months of the first session.
Kitchen or Bathroom Remodel Project Preparation | $1,995
Ideal for DIY homeowners before they start a kitchen or bathroom remodeling project.
Getting ready to invest time and money into a project but feeling a bit unsure about where to begin or how to get started? Simply fill out our questionnaire so we know what you are looking to do, send us your floor plans, images of your existing space, and inspiration images. We spend 1 hour reviewing the information you share, and then we will meet with you for 90-minutes in the showroom (or via Zoom – your preference) and we will devise a plan and offer advice on making sure you are set up for success in managing your own project. Afterward, you will receive a written synopsis of key action items which are specific to your project so that you can start the remodel with confidence. Once you’ve done some legwork and more questions arise that are specific to your project, meet with us for another 90-minutes at the showroom and we can review anything else that’s on your mind (helping you make final tile selections, or decide between quartz or marble countertops, figuring out the order of operations, etc.)
Architectural Plan Review | $2,495
Ideal for homeowners working with an architect or contractor on their new construction or remodel project and want someone who is interiors-focused to weigh in on how the interior spaces function.
Architects are typically focused on how a home performs (safe to occupy, structurally sound, energy-efficient, waterproof, etc.) and also how the home looks from the outside (how is it sited on the property and in the neighborhood, is the exterior scaled well and balanced, massing, roof lines, etc.). Some architects leave space for kitchens and bathrooms but do not dwell on the details about how those spaces function for day-to-day occupants.
Having an expert kitchen and bath designer to delve into the details of how you live in your home before the plans are finalized can be incredibly valuable. Sometimes, moving a window 3 inches to the left will allow you to have that wine cooler you were eyeing or that 42″ range, rather than the 36″ one.
Contractors are typically focused on construction methods and that the materials and design are cost-effective to build and install properly. Some contractors focus more on the cost of your allowances (for example, the pricing for the cabinetry package for the project) rather than the actual cost to achieve the kitchen functionality and storage systems that would make your life easier. While it is a GREAT thing to have a dedicated team member ensuring that your built environment is beautiful, energy-efficient, and cost-effective, we’ve found that sometimes homeowners just want their kitchens and bathrooms to perform more extraordinarily for them.
Having an experienced kitchen and bath designer review the architect’s or contractor’s plans before the space gets built gives you a greater chance of transforming the way you use the space and improving the way you live within that space. We can offer input on all domestic spaces and maintain special expertise when it comes to reviewing kitchen, bath, and lighting plans.
Submit your plans, our completed questionnaire, and a summary of what you want to achieve. We will have a kickoff call to further explore the information we’ve received from you. Then in approximately 2 weeks, we will deliver and review with you a report on areas to improve or consider. After this delivery, you can choose to explore our ideas with your architect or contractor or we can provide further services to collaborate with the architect or builder until the plan revisions are acceptable to you and the entire team. Having an extra set of eyes on the plans before it is built is the best way to ensure that your kitchens and bathrooms deliver. They are the hardest working rooms in the home and we want to optimize how they perform for you and make your life easier.
New Home Purchase Evaluation | $495
Ideal for potential home buyers considering a purchase and who would like an expert opinion about the house layout or existing kitchen design and whether or not it makes sense to remodel or keep searching.
We’ve all seen HGTV’s “Love It or List It” where a designer comes in and upgrades everything in the home exactly how the homeowner envisioned it, but the homeowners still decide to sell the renovated home and find something else that better fits their needs. Sometimes, a home just has limitations on what it can become. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to invest that much money into a house that can never live up to what you want because of age, style, flow, etc. In these cases, it just makes sense to keep looking for something that can more easily and less expensively be tailored to your lifestyle than to force a particular home into something it doesn’t want to become. We help you determine before you purchase if that kitchen can be remodeled to have an island that seats your family of five.
We meet with you to determine what you want, review your dream home inspiration images, and walk through a home with you to evaluate how much intervention would be required in order to make the home into your dream home.
Service area: For anyone outside of a 15-mile radius of our showroom, we charge an additional $50 for time and mileage, or we are happy to do this via Zoom. We take on limited clients outside of the 15-mile radius, so please let us know in the Discovery Call.
